An Adventure Among Rocks & Caves
Anthargange in Kolar is a rocky hill range known for large volcanic boulders, natural cave formations and green surroundings. Located about 60 km from Bangalore, it offers a short outdoor escape for travellers who enjoy light trekking, rock exploration and discovering unusual natural formations and trail is approximately 4 km round trip and usually takes around 2 hours. The cave exploration takes an additional 1 hour,
The trail begins with a flight of steps leading towards an ancient temple before opening into a more natural landscape of rocks and boulders. As the climb continues, thorny shrubs and cave-like formations add variety to the experience.

A Trek with a Story

Anthargange is associated with a perennial spring that emerges through the rocks near the temple. The name Anthargange refers to an inner stream, and the spring is one of the distinctive features of the hill.

The hill is home to the Kashi Vishweshwara Temple, and the rocky landscape around it has formed small and large cave-like spaces. Some sections are narrow and may require careful movement while exploring.

The climb is relatively short, and the upper section opens towards a broad green plateau with views across the surrounding landscape. The combination of rocky terrain, temple surroundings, natural formations and cave exploration gives Anthargange its distinct character.

Your Anthargange adventure begins late at night as you leave Bengaluru for Kolar.

    Meet your trip coordinator at the designated pickup point and board the vehicle towards Anthargange. Settle in and travel with the group through the night.

    Early Morning | Arrive at Anthargange Base

    Reach the designated base area, get ready for the trek and attend a short briefing from your trek leader before starting the ascent.

Begin the early-morning climb through the rocky landscape of Anthargange, keeping together with the group.

    Early Morning | Begin the Trek

    Start the ascent through the rocky trail. The route includes steps, boulders and natural sections leading towards the upper part of the hill.

  2. 6:00 AM

    Sunrise | Reach the Summit

    Reach the summit and take in the first light of the morning. Enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and countryside and capture some memorable photographs.

  3. 7:00 AM

    Morning | Cave Exploration

    Spend time exploring Anthargange's natural cave formations. Some spaces can be narrow, so move carefully and use your headlamp or torch while exploring.

  4. 8:30 AM

    Morning | Begin the Descent

    Start the descent with your trek leader. Take care on the rocky sections and stay with the group throughout the return route.

  5. 9:30 AM

    Trek Ends

    Reach the base and take some time to rest and freshen up after the trek and cave exploration.

    Stop at a local restaurant or en-route eatery for breakfast.

What happens after I book my trek?
Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation. On the day of departure, you will also be added to a dedicated WhatsApp group for the trek, where you will receive the pickup location, reporting time, coordinator details, and other important trip instructions. Please make sure you check the WhatsApp group and arrive at the designated pickup point on time.
Is the trek safe for first-time and solo trekkers?

Yes, trekkers can join as first-time or solo participants. A trek leader will guide the group throughout the trek, and participants are expected to stay with the group and follow the trek leader's instructions and applicable safety guidelines.

Is the trek safe for female travelers?
The safety and security of women travellers are a priority at CompareMyTrip. Female travellers, including solo women, are welcome to participate in our treks and travel experiences.
